cb radio install

I want to put a cb radio in my 97 F150. My question is where is a good spot to get power from? I want to be able to have it on without the key being on. I mounted the radio under the dash below the ash tray.

When i had one on my rig i had it mounted on the roof behind the overhead compartment and got the power from the rear cigarette lighter port for power.

i would suggest getting the power from the cigarette lighter in the front i believe it works without the key on since i can charge my phone off of it without the key one.

Run a dedicated power wire from the under hood power block. Install an inline fuse. Ground to the metal dash frame.
