I just sold my 14ft v-hull and want to scale down a little.
Anyone have any experience with these small plastic boats? They all look pretty good.
These little 10 footers with the pontoon design can carry about 600lbs.
I'm looking for something that I can just toss in the back of the Ranger.
I will be mostly fishing the small and hard to get into places that do not have boat ramps.
Just for the sake of discussion, I can buy a new 10-foot Pelican Raider for about $500 and some change. I've seen some used ones going for like $600 including the tolling motor.
Well I'm in MO not MA so I'm pretty sure the chances are pretty slim. lol.
I tried to find your posts though, couldn't find them. I'm not one of those youngins makin an ass out myself with my car. Like I assume your neighbor kid is.

I think the main thing is to take care of it when you are not using it (storage) My brother had one and we loved it. He has let it go......In direct sun light for a couple of years. But when it was new we fished out of it alot. We took it out about four days a week back then. always had it in the back of his truck. one day we were pulling up to the lake while a bass tourny was starting. All the 18'&20' boats were waiting their turn to back down the ramp and we parked to the side and carryed ours down to the water. The big boats horse laughed us (one said it looks like they are sitting on a sheet of plywood) as we were going across the lake, but we knew the time of their weigh in! When we came back with a stringer that made our boat ride sidways and the tourn winner only had two fish. They all surronded us and said that they could not get to the place's we did and had fished that lake for years and never seen that much fish come from it! They was not laughing any more........get the boat, I have had two 18' bass boats and they were just more comfortable. I still miss catching those fish that the big boats cant get to.

Excellent story! I love hearing when the loud mouths get b1tch slapped.
Like I was mentioning earlier, I will be able to fish a pile of these smaller ponds near home. They have very small access areas and they have some real shallow places that larger boats couldn't get into either.
I always liked the Coleman Classic boats, but it looks like Coleman has stopped making them. I'm leaning towards a little Pelican pontoon style boat. They can handle like 600lbs and don't weigh much either.
Thats a bit wider than my neighbor's boat. His has maybe 4" or better on either side of it. I tried to take note of the name on his boat yesterday as I was leaving, I've had quite a few drinks since then lol. If I remember right it is an American Feather Lite.
