What made you go with a 4.5" lift with the same size tires?

I would like to put some bigger and wider tires on my '08 250 2wd. I think I have the 17x8 rims, does anyone know how big I could go with no mods, and do I have to reprogram the computer? I know this probably has been posted on here before, but can someone save me some time and point me in the right direction? thanks.

If you like the looks of the trucks already pictured in this thread I guess you can see 35" tires fit. On a 7" wide wheel I wouldn't go wider than 12.5" wide on the tire, and I'd try to keep it closer to 11.5.
