No Excursions in this Cash for Clunkers Database ?

So I just read the Cash for Clunkers link provided on the top of our King of the SUVs forum, and I find a link to Ford's cash for clunker calculator (eligibility calculator). http://www.letfordrecycleyourride.com/ Ironically, you can't choose an Excursion from all the models listed for years 2000 (I also checked 03 for kicks and giggles.... again no dice). You can choose various models of Expeditions and even their vans, but no Excursions! Is this an oversight, or has Congress in it's infinate wisdom write out our puppies from consideration?

Of course, I wouldn't even consider it! But, wtf?

Excursion were never EPA rated for mileage. You'd have to consider it a work truck (8,500-10,000 lbs. GVWR).

I can't believe that it wasn't even EPA rated. I bought mine second hand so I didn't see the original window sticker. Actually, thats a really good thing. I just thought that since Ford was so embarassed by the Ex line that they just omitted it intentionally. You once again, know your stuff Monsta!

You can't define an Excursion as a clunker.

I don't think they were embarrased, they just were too damn wimpy to stand up for their product.

I also think they didn't rate the MPG because it might lower it's sellability. I'm into snowmobiles and if the manufacturer doesn't say how much it weighs you know it's heavy.

They didn't rate it because they didn't have to. SUVs with a 8,500+ GVWR didn't fall under EPA mileage regulations (CAFE) until 2007, long after the Excursion was dead.

Pickups and vans with 8,500+ GVWR are still exempt but are suppose to fall under CAFE starting in 2011.

The fact that our Ex's don't qualify, as well as the other commercial rated Ford trucks vans (8500+) should also help with spare part availability (they will keep being manufactured) and the supply of used Exs that we can purchase :-) - they ain't going in the crusher!
