I bought a Sante Fe that was a demo with 5500 miles and got 30 cents a mile off plus all the incentives.

7000? He shouldn't be able to title the vehicle as new above 6,000 miles. Ergo, I'd expect used price for it. I'd be looking for a whole lot more than 30 cents a mile...

Dsifer (aka Grasshopper), please stop including your downpayment and TTL to calculate the price of the truck. Most people give the price of the vehicle excluding the TTL and downpayment, so if you want to compare your deal with other's, then you need to do the same thing.

So you should be writing it like this:

44,000 msrp, but the dealer is giving me:

40,000 invoice
- 3,000 rebates
- 5,000 due to miles

= 32,000 for vehicle

Or you can state it like this "32,000 + TTL".

So now the question becomes..is $32,000 a good deal for that particular used truck with 7,000 miles on it?

If you really want someone to do the work for you, you will have to provide the VIN and zip code to help determine if 32k is a good deal. In addition, we need your social security number, address, ATM pin number, mother's maiden name. date of birth, credit card number with expiration date.

But I would have to say that with your apparent lack of negotiating skills combined with your lack of basic understanding of car financing and car pricing, this is a good deal and you should jump on it. Most people with your similar skills (or lack of) would probably end up having to pay MSRP for a used car with 7000 miles on it. So yes, you are getting a great deal.

You didn't really tell us much about the truck, so, how should we know if 32K is a good deal?

My local dealer has (2) '08 F-150 XLT 4x4's each with 26K on the clock. 4.6L engines and they are asking 22k. I think a fella could get one for 17K-18k if he was to say the right things.

32K for a demo? I'd need more information.
