Need some opinions guys.. Most know what truck and what i have done to it. Well I'll be towing our 30 ft toy hauler leaving friday afternoon for a 150 mile trip one way. In it will be my outlander 800 a few other things.. weight totaling about 7800- 8000lbs Now i have been towing for the past 15 years so thats not the issue. My real question is should i tow in 2 or 3 with the edge 2-as in tow mode or 3 as in extream ? Just would like some pro's and con's

I would stick with level 2...It runs richer and will help compensate for your CAI. I also read that you shouldn't tow over 2500#s on a perf tune. Level 2 is also more bottom end orientated for better pulling off idle. Just throwing some ideas out there mark. Hopefully you'll get some more help.

The Level 3 is designed for fun...not work. The fuel maps don't have much margin for error...so your motor is running pretty close to the safe Lean limit. That + towing might = broken
Depending on what i am towing and the hills anywhere from 8-14 towing my car trailer i average around 10 - 14 towing the toy hauler 8-11... What do you tow and do you have the edge?

I have an 05 xlt 5.4 motor with the towing package and i pull a 24 foot enclosed trailer with my race car. the empty weight of the trailer is right around 3000 empty and with the car the load is around 5200 lbs. The furthest I went is a trip to Columbus to Cincinnati and i got right around 8-8.5 miles per gallon and that was without an Edge or SCT. I have been debating about getting one the local truck accessory store said he has a customer that got an extra 75 miles to the tank just with a programmer alone. Don't know how true that is but if i could get my avg up to around 12-14 it would def be worth the purchase.
Well sunday night when i return i will let you know what i was getting.. I will be on interstate 80 for most of the trip and i'm sure you know 80 it's loaded with hills. So this will be the real first test for it as we took it to FL back in jan but 95 is mostly flat. Our toy hauler empty is 5500.lbs. I only have 1 forwheeler in it now but it's a 4wd can am outlander with 30 inch tires on it. My grill on wheeles in it and an extra set of tires. Once i'm all loaded up with the extra 90 gal's of water the generator a few other things i'mm be pushing around 7ooo lbs.
