HPOP Question?

I have a E-99 and i just did the turbo upgrade off the late model Powerstroke's. I have been waiting to cure the problem of the weak hpop and was wondering if i have to do injectors at the same time or can a just install the adrenaline and notice a differnce?

If you have low oil pressure issues, then you will notice a difference.

(go ahead and do the sticks, you know you want to)

No reason that you HAVE to do injectors with the HPOP, but you know you WANT to

aklim has a good reputation on FTE. aklim has a good reputation on FTE.
What is the basic issue? Is the HPOP really weak or is it just not strong enough to run the truck with the mods you have? If it is the first, get a Terminator with 2 brand new reman pumps. If it is the latter, get a BTS 2nd oil pump or a Terminator with 2 pumps or a Terminator with 1 pump and add it to your good one.

I agree with aklim.

BTW aklim, have you dynoed that setup you've got? It's nearly identical to mine except I don't have the BTS twin pumps yet and have Hypermax stage 2's instead of BDP.

I keep throwing the 1211 code and plan on injectors but can't afford to do hpop and injectors at the same time. Just thought i would start with the hpop and then add injectors when funds are available! What do you guys think of the Adrenline?

Not yet. Planning on doing that this year.

I can't remember what the 1211 code is. It that is the code for your hpop not keeping up, then I'd say upgrade it. The adrenaline or modded terminator are excellent options for single pumps and reasonably priced too. They'd be more than fine for supporting hybrids or stage 2 single shots. BUT, they are still a single pump. The only thing you'll gain from running one of these is no ses light and no code.

If you want to have a noticable hp gain from your pumps even with stock sticks, then go with a Dual HPOP setup from Terminator or BTS. And if you go with bigger injectors someday, no matter what size, then you'll have plenty of oil to throw at them. There's no comparison between a modified single pump and the dual setups - in performance and in price. The dual pumps will be quite a bit more. Like the same as set of injectors.

I say pick your poison and over all hp goals and go with it.

Thanks ryan for your words of wisdom, i really appreciate your input. The only injector i would ever run would be a stage two single shot so im guess the adrenaline might be the way to go?

Or a healthy 17* will also do well for you. Remember that single shots take less oil than your current injectors.

Clay brings up a great point.

I'm running a stock 17* pump and with the Hypermax stage 2's I just got, it's keeping up, but barely. Cale said that it's holding good so far. I can't remember what pressure he said it dropped to at the lowest but I think 1800psi or something. Which I guess is still good. I've yet to set the SES light because of low hpop pressures. With the stock split shot injectors and the exact same pump, I'd set the SES light all the time.

If they are in good condition and healthy, you can usually score those for less than the modded single pumps. But if you want to be more safe than sorry, spend a few hundred extra a get one of the modded singles that has already been gone through and you know it works well.

So do they mod the stock 17* hpop? And if so who does it and what do they change?

Yes they do. That's basically what the Adrenaline is. It's a 17* hpop with modified internals. Terminator Engineering also does the same thing. He's a sponsor I believe. There are some guys like "rons power stroke" running the modded Termy and really like it.

As for the prices, you'd have to check Diesel Site's webpage on the Adrenaline and check with Joey at Terminator for his. Both are good options for a single pump.
