Question "Wireless" Trailer/Towing Lights?

Has anyone else used "Wireless" Trailer & Vehicle Magnetic Towing Lights?

I purchased a set at Pepboy's auto parts store a couple of months ago for 149.00 and I must say they work pretty darn good. I used them on my boat and utility trailer last week and to pull my car behind my RV last month.

You can strap them on or use the magnetic mounts on the bottoms. All you have to do is plug the transmitter into your towing vehicles trailer wiring plug and then mount the lights on your trailer or car. The transmitter then sends the brake - turn signals and running lights information to the wireless tow lights. Total hook up time for me was less then 1 minute. I will let you know in a couple of months how they are working out.

Let me know if anyone else has a set of these..

P.S. I also found these same lights on the internet at: Store.uhaul.com - sears.com - JCWhitney.com and WirelessTowLights.com web sites for those of you who do not have a Pepboys close.

Yep, i had the wirelesstowlights.com ones and they were great. Unfortunately, one night i was hauling my quad on my 8x14' trailer and one of the lights fell onto the road and ripped both off, the lens and connecting wire had too much road rash to be salvaged, never did find the other one. Got my set from Campbell River B.C.

It was my fault. i had them stuck to a bent over metal tab using the magnet...it must have vibrated to much on our gravel highway and one light fell off and got dragged till the wire between them ripped and the one went rolling off into the abyss...LOL. I probably should order another set.

I found that you have to use a flat surface to mount the lights, if we do that I don't believe anything will make them fall off. Do you have a Pepboys near you? The lights at Pepboys are 149.00 I think you will find them cheaper there cause I check other sources on the net and the next cheapest place is the U-Haul or Sears web sites.

I saved the links for you below..

No pepboys in Canada at all to my knowledge, thanx for the links. I paid around 216.00 Can when i got mine a couple years ago. The sears ones are 173.00 U.S. so with the exchange and shipping, i don't think i'de be better off. Even the other link is 160.00 so it's a toss up.

My buddy has them on his tow truck and loves them. I borrowed them one night and put them on the roof of my plow truck because the stock lights get caked in snow and they worked great. I think I'll get a set this winter for that very reason.

I never thought of someone using them on top a plow truck, but that is a great idea. Your right though, these things are really bright.... I sure like mine..

I could definitely see a use for tow trucks or oversize loads, but for me I don't see any need. If I was still running my step deck I would have a set for running oversize at night. They would come in handy.

Was just getting to post up about these and tow light bars. I am just sick of replacing lights on my boat trailer they get corroded by salt water or busted so was looking at some of these but was also looking at the kind that has the wire since the batteries could add up over time.

Tried doing a search for boat trailer light problems with no luck I have tried everything except this so worth a shot I guess

Hi Wagion,

I mainly use mine for going to the lake. The instructions say that lithium batteries last the longest. It says 12 hours night time driving (with the running lights on) and 12 hours day time. So 24 hours will get me through the summer on one set of lithiums. I travel to the lake about 1/2 hour and 1/2 hour back so I think one set will get me through the summer unless I use them for other hauls...

Hello Everyone,

My brother recently went into a "Northern Tool" store in Minnetonka MN. and found that they are also selling these Wireless Tow Lights in there stores. For the heck of it I checked on line and found that Northern Tool is also selling the wireless tow lights on there web site too.

Here is Northern Tools web site for anyone interested..

Another option for boat trailers is to replace with LED assemblies; they're sealed.
