Correct headlamp bulb

I just noticed one of my headlights is out while on my way into work. Original bulb from 2002!! I pulled out my owner's manual to see what the bulb number is so I can get another one coming today, and it shows 2 different numbers, which confused me. Says for Low Beam to use a 9005 bulb. For a High Beam to use the 9006 bulb. Are they the same bulb essentially? The headlight housing only has one bulb inside it which does both low and high beam. Just wanted to be sure I order the right one from work so I can do an easy swap-out this evening. I'd go out and pull the bulb, but my job doesn't allow me the time to go out to do that. Thanks for the replies!

Are you sure you grabbed the correct manual? '02 Expy should be a 9007,and the high and low beams are in the same bulb.

Yup, read it right out of my 2002 Ford Expedition manual on page 36. Calls for 2 different bulbs. But, JL, you are correct about the 9007 being the correct bulb. I went out over my lunch break to have a look and it is, indeed, a 9007. There are also fuses for the left & right low-beam bulb circuits, and the fuse is good, so figuring it's the bulb. Thanks for the reply.

Replaced the bulb with a new 9007 and all is well now.
