It quit here about 2am...the river took most of it thank God. The friends that came up went home..water just short of going in their doors.
Be safe all..I'll be back in a few days.
I wish I could get to the Meet guys. More than a 20 minute ride cripples me up for 2 days.
This trip today is going to take 2 days of recovery and 3 days of heating pad.

Hey Carl, Junior, David, Pat, and everyone else. I went to bed at 2am, but the rain was nowhere near done. The waters had receded to the point where I was comfortable going to sleep. I looked at the radar at 11pm and figured we had about 2 hours left. At 2am, the mass of rain had not decreased so who knows when it stopped.

Brad, that sounds like a typical politician. Is the problem due to a small culvert, lack of one or just not properly maintained ??
Too small and not properly maintained. There used to be a regular bridge that the water flowed under. It was decided that they wanted to put a culvert in and "beautify" the village, put in a park in for kids to play, etc. Well, they took the 4' high by 8' wide bridge opening and stuffed a 4' diameter 40' long pipe in and filled it all in. It doesn't take an engineer (I know because I am one) to figure out that that isn't the same size. It's a royal cluster. Anyhow, check out the below link. Click on play under watch video and it is the second video set. They show my truck, car, our mini-pumper, and they interview my nextdoor neighbor. By the time he filmed this, most of the first round had receded.
Now I did enough site plan design work in my former job and it does not take a rocket scienetist to figure out that a 4' x 8' box culvert, aka the bridge has more volume capacity than a 4' dia culvert
Now let's see... 32 square feet opening with the bridge vs. 12 square feet with a 4' diameter pipe. Nope, not the same size and it is about 1/3 the original size and that does not include what is normally flowing through the darn thing.
