Afternoon all. Even with the trememndous amount of goofing off I've done today, I've still managed to get a lot of work done.
We have upgraded to a written zero tolerance rule. If someone even so much as catches a whiff of something on your breathe, you're outta here.

We have not had any issues with that but I am sure that if, more like when that time comes it will be the same as yours.

That I do Neil. The college isnt giving raises or allowing alot of ot right now because of the economy. but it is better than the college laying people off. I would rather not get ot or a raise then see people get laid off.

That was my attitude two years ago when my union was negotiating a new contract. I was willing to give up a raise for a year or take a smaller percentage than normal to keep my job.
#114
Yeah. I am the same way. if it means no layoffs and my pay rate stays the same I am happy with that.

Thanks for the cudos guys. Most people have no idea how much time is involved with being a volunteer fireman or EMS person. The minimum training hours is terrible..right now to be a certified interior FF in NY it will take 93 hours of both classroom and hands on traning..... and that is just for the basic course. Auto extrication.... 16 hours, pump operator is 24 hours and this will require another course, Emergency Vehicle Operation which is around 24 hours. Annual OSHA refresher is 8 hours, and also an annual Haz MAt refresher of 4 hours and so on.......
Definitely a lot of work that Neil is talking about and addison to that there always changing stuff all the time

Thanks for the help the past few days Neil.....Hopefully, I am done with it!
Shaun, altho you do not get OT, you also do NOT work more than a 40 hr week, right?

Typically no Bud. But we would get double time and a half if we worked holidays. now we have to either take comp time or the hoilday off.
