hey jr, went through the garage, found my small engine valve grinder, but can't find the stones to cut the valve seat. have you got any down there? I know I have some, but 4 boys grew up here, and a lot of that stuff is somehow unaccountable. hmmm wonder what happened?

you know I'm too cheap for that. might grind the valve, coat it in valve grinding compound, then set it against the seat, and turn it with a drill. think that would work?

you sure the valves ain't bent Charlie-i never remember one being bad on none of the older briggs I used to work on -maybe bent-but usually the valves rotated as they opened so they very seldom were burned or bad sealing problems-but that was the older in block valves too I know the older ones had removable seats in the block-how are the valve guides? any shake to em ?

i have lapped or ground a many valves like that-just make sure ya don't mess up the part the retaining clips go into-when you chuck the drill on it
