I tried to talk to him about the bII at june gtg, he never really said what was wrong with it. btw, he has a 2.9, different than the 2.8. wish he would give me some details, might could figgure out how to put a bandaid on it. I probably have an alt for it. I kow you do jr

same thing only smaller. 2.9 is of german origin, and some of the parts still have not been released to aftermarket by ford. they can get pretty pricy to rebuild. I can weld him up a set of motor mounts, and stick a 5.0 in there. just have to get a trans to block adapter, or he can loose 4x4, and put motor and trans out of the donor, just have to have a drive shaft cut.

I got an old briggs and stratton motor laying around-it will get good mileage

2.8 was the carb'd motors. 2.9 efi with eec3. look similar, but different animals

I never liked the small versions of any trucks-suv or nothing like it-don't even like the lumina apv I got-but it was a freebie!if it weren't I would not have the thing-it ain't ford

all rangers 4 cyl until 86. 87 4cyl, or v6 efi. think his is an 88. 89 last year for 2.9, then went to 3.0until 95 went to 4.0

I loved my ranger. but it was too small. went to haul an auto trans one time, and it squated so bad I thought I was killing it

and what kills me is seeing guys lowering full size trucks-couldn't carry a pop corn cup in the back with out it bottoming out or rubbing tires

well how big was the trans? for a earth mover or something-I told ya about my uncle and the cadillac right-the lincoln arc welder-and the broken axle? if not i will sunday
