yup.... cuz i also did the same on my stang too... sanded the rust off my driveshaft, rear axel, exhaust (tip to manifold) and EGR is painted as well... for me i just cant stand the site of rust.... but i also like the fact it helps keep it from getting attacked by the elements as much too... you would believe all the snooty remarks ive gotten from people for painting that stuff...

People shouldn't make remarks just because when their car gets extremely old and they wonder why a bunch of parts snap from rusting, they are going to have problems. The rust under my truck is not terrible, but I figured "why wait any longer, its already there".

yeah same... my exhaust looked like it had liver spots on it... sanded it down.. painted it with HTP and it still looks as good as the day i painted it... drive shaft and rear end were both big rusty parts... painted them too...

mostly the remarks i get is "WTH you do that for? not like you ever see it... " or "if you dont like seeing rust. dont look at it... ", "your under there what.. once ever few months? "... wish theyd keep their mouths shut on it...
