Xrider is starting off with a positive reputation.
has anyone done a true dual exhaust on a 4.2?

my exhaust is shot and leaking, so why not upgrade? I was thinking a magnaflow hiflo cats, resonator, and magnaflow mufflers a true dual exhaust. I dont want it loud, its still a van not a race car but dont mind some rumble!
van is used as my tool truck, transport tools to work on my other trucks and some side work as needed!

The 4.2 engine is so small in a big van that I doubt it's worth too much expense or work to get a couple more hp out of it. Especially changing out the cats if they old ones are not plugged is not going to be worth it, IMO.

An exhaust is going to give you more power when you really wind it out, probably above 4000 rpm or so, so I wouldn't expect much real world improvement.

Take care,
George

Get rid of the cats and run a three way cat into a 15'' glass pack. Should give you some rumble without being too loud.
