Actually that grey truck in his avatar looks like mine.

Anyway the pull was a success for two reasons and disappointing for another:

Successes: didn't break anything & didn't get last place

Disappointment: clutch slipped pretty bad and I never did get WOT until 75-100' out

Going to try Washington tomorrow....but anyway...Ford141..pm sent.

I haven't been here in a long time and figures as soon as I login I stumble into this thread again. Man that's a killer truck, would LOVE to find a donor truck with that chassis.

You mention the truck having a C6 - is the transfer case divorced? I'm really wanting to go that route with our 79.

No, the transfer case is married to the C6 - it is the part-time gear driven NP205 unit, all stock. Only the early pre-77 "highboy" style trucks used the divorced cases.

I had a guy at a local pull offer me a rolling chassis from a '79 1-ton, complete with a 400/4spd/ dana60s front and rear. He said the rest of the truck was there, but it was very rough - typical PA rust. Then I asked him the price - he said $1500... I told him to go home...

Gotcha. There's so much to catch up on with these to me. I know our 79 (being a 150) has a np203 had to replace the chain once. Sounds like I need to try and find a married 205 then.

Could you post a under chassis view of your truck if you have one.
