Couple of questions - how to

First - How do I remove the F250 side vents on the front fender?

Second - What is the trick to get the stock grill inserts out (I see there are both push pins and some sort of clips)?

I want to paint the grill inserts black and the vents that are dark red the brighter red I used on the tailgate Super Duty.

I am sure there is a simple way to do these things but I don't want to bust or scratch something because I was going about it wrong.

I took the side vents off a year ago to clean around them. I think I worked my hand in and pushed them out from the inside. There should be some tabs you can get your fingers on to help it out.

Hopefully somebody will chime in with more recent experience.

i put the billet side vents in mine. there are tabs to push with a flathead screwdriver and just pull it out with your fingers. the whole emblem comes out not just the honeycomb though, once you have the entire emblem out of the fender you can easily take off the honeycomb and paint it. i dont know much about the grille mine was painted (fx4) and i ordered a chrome grille and just changed the whole thing.

Thanks, got the side vents off this afternoon. The vent grills are painted and back on the truck. The main grill looks like a pain. I will check with someone at a dealer that can enlighten me.
