Hey mods - unlock the suggestions forum!

You gave us the link, but all it does is generate a trouble ticket and don't need to burden someone with an email

Couple suggestions from a forum junkie

* Get rid of the rotating ads on every single page load - or make them so that it's a PNG or JPEG instead of flash since it takes friggin' forever to reload the page (I've got a fiber connection and wired hardware, so it's not a BW issue)

* Sticky request option for highly rated or highly helpful threads? Especially for stuff that has high amounts of search requests (COP testing and replacement on the 5.4L for example)

* I just got a chuckle - there's a rotating chevy ad on the Ford Forum

Great forum though keep up the good work.

Even the flash ads should be under 40k

Have you seen how big this site is?

We would have 37 pages of sticky threads in each forum!
We try in our forums to have a "tech thread" which lists all the cool threads!
Outside of that, you can sort threads by their "rating"
* I just got a chuckle - there's a rotating chevy ad on the Ford Forum
I know - we should be pretty flattered that they feel they need to tell the Ford guys how good their trucks aren't!

I agree, It'd be cool if there was a "suggest this for the tech folder " button

I love coming across a great tech how to write up, even if I can't dorectlyuse the info

Jake, I hope you realise that you made me do a search for the meaning of the word "dorectlyuse". To my surprise, it wasn't to be found.

Carlene--"dorectlyuse" is fat-fingerese for "directly use".

Sorry - that was what I was referring to. It reset it when we updated it.

Adrian

Is it possible to get a "New Posts" in either the "Subscribed Forums" list or in the "Forum Tools" menu??

It would be nice to be able to "New Posts" the individual forums... Or am I missing something!

Thanks

-Enjoy

Is there even a suggestion forum anymore? I had one, and tried the link, but still get the support ticket form.

Anyways, my suggest is about moving the "Unsubscribe from this forum" link further away from the actual link to the forum in the User CP or adding in some kind of conformation page because I've accidentally unsubscribed to a few forums by accident on multiple occasion.

That's a good suggestion Trevor and it's been made by several other folks too. I'll drop a line to the admins but can't promise anything. I imagine that's something they may have to look toward accomplishing in the next software upgrade.

Is it possible to "Invest" in the forum? Not for gain, just to further the software, etc.....
