Hello friends... 1987 F-150 4.9L RWD with c6 that has been gradually losing 1st. Tranny was rebuilt 3 years ago. In D, now it immediately shifts to 2nd off the line. In 1 sometimes it will slip. All other gears including R work great.
Am I looking at another rebuild? Do I need to stop driving it until I can get it fixed?
I am not an expert but just to clarify what do you mean by "gradualy losing first"? Do you mean that it slipped more and more in first until no first at all or that it would start in first sometimes but starting in second became more frequent?
