Getting an Edge!!

Well I was able to scrounge enough money to buy an Edge and I should have it by the end of this week or beginning of next week. Eventually I'll send it to Power Hungry Performance and get some custom tunes but it will stay as an Edge for now.

Any concerns I should have when putting this bad boy in? Any suggestions as to shift point changes or anything? I'm really excited for this!

On another note, I've put in quite a few electronics from a new head unit, speakers, and a subwoofer and I'll post up some pics of them once I get the Edge installed.

I want to thank everyone here for all the help! I couldn't have done any of this without the help of this forum. You guys rock!!

Well, wish I had know this because I'm pulling my edge and volant out of my truck since it looks like I have to get rid of it. Will get them listed this week. I loved mine. Ran it on Level 2 with no issues for several years.

I put mine on the tow setting and havent changed anything and love it. It really wakes up the 5.4. You will see a big differance in the shifts.

You'll love the difference the Edge makes. I just added my S&B CAI a few weeks ago and its really wakes it up too.
I'd also like some suggestions/opinions on shift points.

Now is a great time to buy the Edge with the current 10% off sale. The S&B is a nice addition as well and cant be beat for the money.

I found out recently that the tire size changer was wrong.
according to the hand book it says that a 275 65 18 tire should be set at 2559 but it was wrong it was giving me higher MPH that was making me think i was going faster making faster 1/4 times and having better MPG.

make sure you double check that its giving you the right info!

other than that i love mine. makes a real differance.
as for shifting the higher it is the harder it shifts. it feels fun but it isnt very comfy. i dont see a need to shift harder than setting 3 i stay at 2 or 1.

good luck!

I have the same tire size and noticed a difference between what my speedometer said and what the edge was saying. About 2 mph difference. What setting are you using now? greater than the 2559?
other than that i love the dge as well, no problems here at all.
Thanks

Where will I be able to find the correct info for tire size?

Thanks
at 40 MPH it was a 3 MPH difference. at 80 it was 7 MPH out
god only knows when i topped it out when i was doing 120... maybe 105 hahahaha.
its a really big difference when you travel as much as i. before it was saying i was going 0-60 in 6.2 now with it giving the almost correct MPH its about 8.
as for the setting im at now im using stock setting ... like 2350 or something but dont quote me ... when i checked it recently i was about +1 or -1 im ok with that.

I wrote Edge as well and this is the reply i received.

"Is your truck a Ford? The reason I ask is that on Ford trucks they will always read 2-5mph faster on the dash then on the Evolution monitor. Ford did this to prevent potential issues with customers getting tickets for inaccurate speedometers.

Let me know if you have any additional questions."

They never did answer my question of, what setting do i need to set the tires at to get a 1 to 1 ratio between edge and speedometer. I replied to them and we'll see if they respond. I'll keep everyone informed.

I actually do believe that. I was traveling on the highway with my Garmin GPS and decided to check my speedometer speed compared to the one on the GPS and the speed on my speedo was 2 mph slower than I was actually going. I still have the stock tires so that statement by Edge is believable.
