I don't get it....why are those your only two options????
Why do you feel you need these mods or you would have to sell the Bronco.
Unless you plan on hardcore wheelin, you likely don't need the front axle swap and I personally don't feel that the rear disc brake conversion is worth the work.
I'll second the questions already posed. I mean, yeah if you are into serious 4-wheeling then the SAS makes sense. The rear disc conversion is more money than its worth. You would be better off upgrading the front brakes and leaving the drums alone since most of the braking power is up front under the majority of conditions.
But if you decide to sell it, where are you so I can put in my bid.

I agree with you guys. I know, this coming from someone whose Bronco is only a shell lol. But the rear drum brakes are more than enough for these trucks especialy with an upgrade to the fronts. I thought about a solid axle swap (useing a f350 4x4). Then I thought about the areas where I hunt etc. and realized that the flex of the ttb dana 50 was the better opion as far as traction goes.

I just bought a 2008 F350 the Bronco is just sitting here now. The front ball joints are shot and so are the axle u joints, Figured it would be easier to just swap the whole front end if I was going to do all that work.
Not the only options the options are fix it or sell it I don't have the space to just have a vehicle sitting around to get to some day.
Even if I had a 2010 F-series in my laneway, I would hang onto the Bronco...but I don't know what kind of shape it is in.
As for the front end......you think it would be easier to swap in a solid axle????
Now I don't think it's as much work as some make it out to be. All depends on level of skill and tools I suspect.
In any event, if the Bronco is in otherwise good shape, I would find a day to get the work done. It does not take all that much time to swap out front ball joints and u-joints...then again, I guess it's all relative..
Also, in my opinion(everyone has one), if properly maintained, drum brakes will certainly do the job they were designed to do.
No matter what you do...at least you're still driving a Ford
if you use good quality parts up front like moog tie rods and good ball joints and bushings you should get plenty of life out of that thing still. I run mine with 35's and love it, just need it locked up front to help the TTB over some obsticles easier.
since you have a 96 doing an SAS isnt just a bolt in affair. figure almost $2k in parts before you even get started. u will need welding skills to get your track bar in order. then what will you do about the 4wabs the bronco currently has? all things to think about i guess.
