Unhappy burning oil in cylinder

ive got a 400 motor that ive recently installed a new crank kit in ive basically rebuilt the motor except for the pistons and cam bearings and i seem to have oil getting into the passenger side rear cylinder as your looking at the front of the motor its been doing this even before i put the crank kit in and i put all new valve stem seal on thinking that was it but still had the problem my dad thought it could be the piston rings especially since i have not yet replaced them or the rings but i ran a compression test on that cyllinder and compression was up to 140 psi and it only leaked 5 psi over 15 min so i don't know my only guess is that it might be the valve stem seal sticking to the valve and allowing oil under the seal when the valve closes but im not sure what do you guys think?

It might not be your 2 compression ring but your 2 rails and your expander. The oil ring does not seal the combution pressure. My 02

Mine had the same prob, had new guides and everything but my valves were worn, since the engine is alway a bit tilted to the back, a small pool of oil forms in the back of the top side of the cylinderhead (where rockerarms are), so the back cylinders (4,8) are prone to sucking oil thru the exaust valve, and since the passanger side has the exhaust valve last, its the one thats gona suck more oil..... Dissasemble the spring/seal from the number 4 exhaust valve (remember to have that piston up or the valve will fall) and move the valvestem with your hand, if it has to much clearance thats your problem, you can fix it maybe by adding a small rubber o-ring on top of the seal plus adding thicker oil, or by getting new valves

it seems like that might be the case i took out the plugs and most of them looked good except the back 2 cyllinders 4,8 i just put a new valve stem seal kit on all the valves so they may be sticking to the valve allowing oil to get under the seal when the valve closes is there any way to keep the seals from sticking to the valve so that it stays down to the guide?

I hate this sealing system, theres 2 thing you can do, yo can run a quarter oil less (you could be running excess oil too), and seal the last 4 valves with an O-ring on top of each umbrella...

just thought of an idea im going to try tommorow im going to put some springs on the valves that will push on the valve seal and put some tension on it to keep it from sticking to the valve. should do the trick hopefully. i'll let you know how it goes
