Check for corrosion and good connections to the voltage gauge. The wiring in my 93 had gotten bad enough at one point that my voltage reading wouldn't even register on the gauge but everything else was fine. Turned out the wiring to the gauge itself was so corroded that not enough was getting through and it was putting additional draw on the battery.

Sounds like you got a cluster out of a 92-93 truck

92-93 are the same
94-95 are the same
96- some say stand alone and some say same as 94-95????

An incorrect gauge cluster will create a charging problem.

Did you replace the individual gauges or the entire cluster assembly?
What year vehicle did the replacements come out of?

That's the problem.

Now, you could take those gauges and install in your 95 cluster and you will be OK.

You can also repin your wiring connectors to make it work.
Go to this thread for wiring diagrams for the different years:http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/85...ster-help.html
