For the smog pump either install a shorter belt to bypass the pump or gut it so it's just an idler.

To get sound out of the exhaust just cut off the muffler and run a straight pipe. If that's not loud enough then remove the rear cat and run a straight pipe.

That depends on what is upstream of the muffler. If you have catalytic converters, you can typically get by without the muffler and it's not TOO loud. If you don't have catalytic converters, it's usually a touch too loud without the muffler. Everybody has their own opinion on this, but I always found it a little too loud.

About the flowmaster 40 series, I have a pair of these on my '92 Corvette with headers and an x-pipe. They sound really good at idle and at WOT. At cruise they sound decent from outside the car. On the inside, however, it kinda drones and that bothers a lot of people. I've been listening to it for 8 years so I'm kinda deaf to it, but it does take some getting used to. I imagine a truck wouldn't amplify the sound quite as bad as the cockpit of the Vette, but just be aware that it's a known issue with the 40 series.
