With me in the truck it showed 5940 and I weigh in at 205 so it was pretty accurate. I was a little surprised at the weight also.

something is off there

my 2006 Screw FX4 w/ Luxury Package, with <1/4 tank of gas: was 6,000 lbs by itself...nothing in it but the spare. I had to pay to ship it from Seattle to Honolulu...better believe that puppy was every bit of 6k all by itself

and the 09's are even heavier than prior generations

Sticker on the door says pax and cargo not to exceed 1392 #'s ( Iassume that's the pay load sticker)

gross allowed weight on the 09's is 7,200 for a screw

so that puts you at 5,800 for curb weight...which is close with the paper specs I've seen on Edmunds.com. They say a Screw XLT should be about 5,600 lbs

did Ford do some Gastric bypass on the 09's that we're unaware of?

ford said they were lightening them up....that was the reason for the new frame design and more use of high strength steel.....

09's should weigh less than 08's......

That said....my 07 weighed in at 5950 last year with me in it.....which comes out to about 5700 without me....20 inch rims and all.....i don't know how some of you guys have 6100+ lb trucks...i can't think of anything that i don't have that weighs anything... except maybe the 6.5 ft bed....but that can't add more than 100-150 on...

Gross weight minus max payload should be 5700.....and this should be the heaviest F-150 available...

Not sure what density E-85 is but say it's 6.0 that put's the 30 plus gals of fuel around 180-190 lbs which puts GVW around 5560 if they figure GVW with tank empty. I was looking at the numbers to see if my 09 would pull my small horse trailer and horses ( 5000Lbs) several times a year. Looks like the numbers are okay. It didn't come with a brake controller, so I put one in that was OE and it slipped right in and computer programmed just fine. My 09 has the Max tow package with 18 inch wheels so I believe I'm set. Great truck nd it's a pleasure to drive.

That was my impression as well. However, looking at the weights some guys have posted, it appears that the SCrew may have lost some too, or at least not gained any. If an extra 1 foot of bed and frame only adds 100-150 lbs as some would assume, I'd bet an extra 6" of cab wouldn't add in much more than that. Factor in the weight-saving measures, and maybe the new SCrew is about the same weight?

Also, based off of what tttanker showed on the scales with his truck, the payload stickers must be pretty close. If so, that means my truck weighs about 5925 lbs, and it's got about every option (moon roof, man step, etc) except the 6.5' bed. Compare that to Ryan's truck, and it looks like a 225 lb increase though.

I wonder how much of that 225 lbs is attributed to the gas tank being full or empty....afterall a 30 gallon tank could cause that difference

Not sure if it helps but my 2006 Lariat Screw 2wd 6.5' bed with nearly empty tank weighted in at 5300# at the county dump.

I can see how 4wd and a full tank of fuel could push you close to 6000#

My '09 screw, 4x4, 6.5' box with the tank full of fuel and me out of it came in at 5975 lbs. Leaves me 1200 lbs of payload according to the sticker.

I've hauled a number of times with it and it handles that payload weight and more very well, way better than the '08 GM I was driving.
