Didn't the SPD give like 10 to 15hp on the 99 rams horn model? It was only $100, how much is a SCT tuner?

The sticky above basically proves the SPD "Rams Horn" Y replacement doesn't hurt performance.
^^^There, I fixed what I previously posted. Thats what happens when you type too fast.

Something like that.
All stock w stock tune vs SPD Y with stock tune Notice how choppy the curve is.

Stock tune SPD Y vs 87 tune SPD Y. Notice how the 87 tune curve is a lot smoother and took out the large drops.

About $400 for the Xcal3.

Yea my truck sounds just like Imper truck. I lost low end TQ and it sounds like S***! I wish I never changed a thing i was very disapointed with the ebay y-pipe. Wish I still had my stock one because I would put that back on in a heartbeat.

I noticed a little extra power but no improvements in MPGs, I was just really disappointed in the sound change. Mine went from the indy car sound which I loved to the six cylinder truck sound, the magaflow muffler that the guys from complete exhaust said would fix the problem didn't. The one thing that I have done is put a 40 series flowmaster that I had from before and put it in front of the magnaflow. Took a lot of the truck sound out and it quieted down some and now I dont have that rice burner sound when I mash the gas. But am still disappointed in the in the whole experience, will be looking for the parts to go back to stock set up. If anybody has a factory rams horn for my 2000 EX v10 in great shape pm me.

Yep I hated the sound too. Sounded like an old stove bolt 6cyl with and exhaust leak. The Stan's pipe is just sitting on the garage floor. You might want to look into some headers before making your decision to go back stock. I had the "T" pipe so I went headers.

My exhaust still sounds stock, with a slightly deeper tone at low RPMs.

Still got the stock cat and muffler

I just want to be clear, the y-pipe mod and the flutter noise it created is what I didn't like. I had both stock and Magnaflow mufflers and they made no difference in the flutter noise. With the Thorley headers and Magnaflow, I have a nice sound with no flutter. Krewat, did you ever run a mod y-pipe and stock exhaust manifolds or did you put on headers then do the y-pipe?

So can I jump in here and ask this. I own a 01 Excursion V10 and really do not tow with it unless I pull a car trailer once a year. Is the Y pipe a good mod? I use mine more for the interstate mountains of WVa and Virginia. I also want to add all of the cheap power just to have it. )

Thanks
Brian
