The Dealers Like to sell the big dollar Diesels so don't belive a word they say. If you check the FORD Order guides THE V-10 was available in every state for ALL years of V-10 production. There were some limits on stick shift 6.8/5.4 stuff due to FORD not wanting to EPA certify them for the short 07 run but that was it.
All the V-10 N/A Blah Blah were rumors, rumors, rumors as time has proven.

I remember Captchas being that way, though.

The problem at the time was that the 3-valve V10 did not have an EGR and California had weight requirements beginning in 2007 of up to 14,500lbs GVWR needing an EGR. Reading the law at the time, it looked like the V10 wasn't going to be sold in the "green" states, and it was actually NOT AVAILABLE in those states according to dealers at the time.

Anyway...

But remember, you always say -- "I've been wrong before, I'll be wrong again. Just wait and see."

*If* it is true what they say about the new '11... man thats scarey. Only 2 engines to choose from both completely new, and a new (or 'modified') tranny. I wont be surprised though if things turn out a bit different.

I was told the MY10 will be the last year of the v-10. My info comes from someone who has been driving a 6.2L mule for the last few months. According to him, starting in MY11, the 6.2L will be the only gasser available in the Super Duty line up.

The end is near!

It was me!
I predicted '09 as the last year for the V10 here:
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/54...d-is-near.html

I believe that was Ford's plan, but financial issues have caused delays. If Ford had released the Hurricane/Boss/whatever it's named now when they wanted, the V10 would no longer be an option for the Super Duty.

I hope they keep the V10 in the cab chassis at least. A 6.2 won't cut it in a F550.

I wouldn't wait for a new engine. I don't want to be a guinea pig for the first 2 years cause you KNOW there will be SOME issues.

Besides the V10 is cool, sounds different and is pretty smooth for a truck engine.

I really rushed into a last minute deal getting my 09... partly since everyone was saying it would be the last year for the V10 and the stick shift... now I guess I didnt have to. But if next year is a short run maybe they wont have as good of rebates. Oh well, kinda wished I had waited now.

This is my first post to this site and as I work for Ford at Cleveland Casting I will try to update you as to what is going on in Ford World. As of now we have stoped casting v10s and have a sufficiant float built up. the 6.2 is the replacement for the v10. The 5.4 will remain in production until MY.2013 although it will be taken from Cleveland and moved to Mexico. MY2010 will be a short run for the V10. I don't know if Mexico will cast the V10 as it is identical to the 5.4 with 2 more cyl.s. If you want a new V10 you might want to think about getting them while there still around and while their still made in the U.S.A. I will keep you informed if things change as they do by the minute. P.S. thanks to all of you for buying 5.4s and v 10s, you have kept us at Cleveland Casting working! and we all thank you for buying American.

Ford has always come through with a good gas motor for HD use and I hope they continue to do so. I'm not ready for a new truck and if they don't have anything suitable for my use when it comes time I will have to go to the dark side and get a diesel but it will not be a TOY DIESEL in a PU truck it will be a Freightliner M2. I have been running Ford trucks for 31 years all gas and I hope I will be able to in the future but if they go the way of GM and Dodge and no longer offer a good gas motor that streak will come to a end.

The 2009 model year Harley-Davidson edition Super Duties were the first, and only, since 2004 to offer the V10 option, and I eagerly jumped on one for that very reason. Prior to that, I had a 5.4L powered Lincoln Mark LT. With that said, a hearty "Thank you!!" to you & your fellow workers for cranking out some of America's best blocks!
