Convert DRW to SRW

Is it difficult to convert a DRW axle to SRW? I've been looking for another truck and see a lot of DRW out there, but I need SRW so I can ride on the beach. I might go for the DRW if it's easy to do the switch, and for not too much $.

I'm sure it's do-able, but might look strange with the big gap under the rear fender extensions.

Just take off one wheel from both sides of the rear axle....
Can't be any simpler than that!

Easy to switch, yes. Will it look funny...definitely! The problem is that a regular pickup DRW axle is 4 inches wider than a standard SRW axle. You're two options would be to run just the inner bud wheel, which will look goofy. Or find a factory SRW rim, but you will still have to use the DRW fenders on the bed as the tire will stick out.
Now if its a chassis cab DRW, then simply find a SRW rims and your good to go. The chassis cab axle is the same width as the SRW.
