Your door is ajar light

Lately the "your door is open" light on the console stays lit. I was tlod it is probably the switch needs cleaning or replacement by some of the FTE community. I can only find one type of switch on the entire double door assembly and it appears to be riveted in place. It is located directly below the handle for the rear suicide door on my extendacab. Is this the switch I should be working on and is it possible to drill out the rivets and attach new switch with screws or something? I hate to take a problem like this to a dealer for repair so as always, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Most people drown the latch in wd40, and it will start working again. The switches are part of the latch.

If it is greasy or very cruddy (great terminology, eh), you may have to really douse the latches for a day or more.... spray, open and close doors (you don't know which door it is). The problem usually goes away for a long time. I had the same problem with my Mark VIII.
