Tested it out today !

It was 105' here today, at 8:30 pm it was still 100' !
I finished up re-doing my AC evaporator mounting, installing a new elect fan along with a new thermostat last week. Decided to go to a car show today, so off we go with fingers crossed. Drove 1 hour 45min at 65-70 mph and everything worked. It stayed below 200' the whole way. Got in a bunch of stop & go traffic on the way home, but no problem heating up. Boy, did that AC feel good !! I figure if it works at these temps, that I am ready to go anytime. Made me a happy camper.

I was finally able to connect mine (10 yrs planning!) yesterday evening.. and it worked first try..!

even the hoses went where I expected them to go..

course I had to cut & grind a good craftsman open end wrench to a 2in stubby to get into tighten the last fitting..

I hate to ruin a good wrench...air conditioning =$1,000+, Craftsman wrench =$3.50, the look on the Sear's salesperson's face when you return it under the lifetime guarantee= priceless! So, what's your take on the Rattletrap sound deadener as sound deadening and insulation?

Sam,
I had to do exactly the same thing. Cut a wrench in half. now I have a stubby open end and a stubby box end.

Well, I can't tell what did what..

rattle trap
insulation layer, mylar both sides
jute
carpet

it is REALLY quiet..
just now got the A/C working, and the temp dropped to 85..
have to get the stereo back in, and the horn hooked up..

then can drive. (to calibrate the speedo).

hope to get the exhaust finalized tomorrow..

Thanks, Mike

Mike,
Yes, the cab is insulated with the aluminum-foam- aluminum stuff. Don't know what the brand of it is. Seems to work well. The floor has an extra thick layer on top of the other stuff.
I don't know what temp the cab get to, but it is very comfortable in a short time. I usually have the thermostat about 3/4 of the way up and the blower on medium. Wife complains she is cold after about an hour on the road.
