Update.

The truck is doing well, exhibited a very slight groaning noise in the morning while backing up - definitely transmission and not brakes, etc. But no surging or pulsing. After that, the truck ran fine... as a matter of fact, I chanced it - went to get gravel and hauled a load home(round trip - 20 miles). The load was .... well, don't do what I did, but was in excess of our payload 1260lbs. Oops...

That being said, I'd like to ask.... have any of your hauled in excess of 1260lbs on your Ranger? If so, about how much and for how far?

*** Update *** So far, the transmission is not giving me a problem. It did groan and felt slightly jerky the other day - just while backing up and then going forward. Much, Much more subtle since I dropped the pan and changed the filter/flushed the VB out. Hopefully, when I drop the pan again in a few months, there won't be a lot of sludge and any pieces of metal on the magnet.

But today and the other days, it ran well with no groans and shudders.

And El Jefe - I had to grind the roast pork at Verna's the other day! hahahaha! Yea, I miss the Teriyaki anything at the Keaau location. I have yet to check out the new owners/business there.

I took 55 gallon drum from Topeka to Dodge one day. 55 gals times 8.3 lbs per gal means it's about 440 lbs.

Aloha g_k.... yea, 440lbs is pretty easy business for our spunky Rangers. What size engine and tranny do you have?

Nope - not on ForumsHawaii. And the truck(tranny) ran wonderfully. It may have been a stuck valve... hummm... Still..... Well, after another two months, I am going to drain and check the pan again anyway. Might even do a powerflush at one of the local places... thoughts?
