Why did the diesel climb the hill almost 5 seconds faster than the gas, at least on the 15% grade.
Speed was real close at the top of the "huge" 250 meter course too.
The 7% grade is almost identicle.
The F350 weighs 1170 pounds more too.
And again in the 1/4 mile. Unloaded is very close and loaded is won by the diesel by 1.5 seconds

you know looking at those charts again it is interesting they used mph instead of time on the test to keep the lines closer. Just typical playing with numbers to generate interest.
They might top out at the same speed, but diesel got there a lot faster.

Are you blind? They have mph and time both listed on the charts.
And they did not top out at the same speed-the 6.8L is actually moving at a higher rate of speed. It was also still gaining speed where the 6.4L was gaining very little.
Over a 100 meter distance(150-250meters) the 6.8L gained 9mph in a 9 second timeframe. The 6.4L gained 1mph in the same timeframe and distance.

I think what he was meaning is, if you were standing at the top of the hill, the 6.4 would have toped the hill, then 5 seconds later the 6.8 would pass.

Uhhh, not exactly. The V10 gained just under 4mph over the 100 meters(150-250) in just over 9 seconds. The diesel only gained about 1mph and covered the same distance in just over 8 seconds.
Either way, the diesel made the same trip(250 meters) almost 5 seconds faster, regardless of speed.

Yeah, essentially, that's what the chart shows.
Last time I checked 26.75 was faster than 31.53.

It will if the DOT ever pulls you over and puts you on a scale. GVWR, front and rear GAWRs, and the GCWR are all very important to those guys.
JL
GVWR is the only thing that matters. You cant know the GCVWR without the information from the trailer you are towing. So if two pickups both with the same gvwr and trailers with the same gvwr in tow will have the same GCVWR no matter what rear end they have.

Yep-I rear the same chart twice-it's so small up there in the quote that it's hard to read.
Either way,I'm not disputing the elapased times at all-I never have. But,the 6.8L was still gaining speed at the end of 250 meters where the diesel was barely gaining anything. You commented earlier about the "huge" 250 meter test-would you like to have seen 500 meters? How about 1000?.

I figured we'd be running low on beer, so I brought some more. Help yourselves. This has gotten pretty good.
Thanks for coming to the rescue!
