Lets not forget locomotives .

Diesels are better suited as working machines, they simply last longer.

I suspect in the future your going to see quite a few CNG powered big rigs on the road.

Have an FTE Get Together for Beers, BBQ, a TON of Bull****ing, and some good old fashion sled pulls and drag racing.

Then people can legitimately mock each other for a year, until the next one. I have little to prove, but I love my truck like everyone else does. I would be at a meet in a heartbeat if Alaska were just a hop skip and a jump away.

We used to do this with the Mustang forums, and invite Camaros and Firebirds. All kinds of stuff went down and then people could tease and humor each other until the next year. Actually was fun too.
The losers should have to wear a skirt and kiss each other at meetings for a year as well.

Diesels are in that inviornment because they pull well. The V-10 is good for at least 300k miles in many cases. The lasting feature is not the big issue and not necessarily true. I used to operate heavy equipment and work on them and trust me; they all break.

Lets skip the skirts and kissing. FTE G2G sounds great, but expensive therapy does not.

You can't tell me longevity isn't part of the equation. You just can't.

Typically, a diesel can be expected to last twice as long as a comparable gas motor, counting out all cases of neglect of course.

You say a V10 lasts to at least 300,000 miles, and I can respect that. That is a lot of miles. I personally know 7.3 ers who tallied that many miles on trucks that have had no major problems and continue to run as daily drivers every day... and I can think of one in particular who has gone 750,000 and still running.

You show me a V10 that is still ticking at 750,000 miles, and we'll talk.

Everything breaks, that is one singular truth we can all agree on.

I know of a 5.4 ( same motor, 2 less pistons) with 1,100,000 miles.

Yes, the diesel owners were lacking an instigating sig quote.
