Have any of you got the cam sprocket/crankshaft off a tooth. What happened? Is there a way to tell without taking off the whole front of the engine? A mechanic told me they would check cam overlap with #1 at BTDC and find the other cylinder that was at the top of the stroke and check the valve rockers.
Any help is appreciated. The reason I am checking is I have checked ignition and fuel and it stall has no power at high speeds. Vacumm is at 18 mmHg and steady so no vacumn leaks. Getting fuel, new rebuilt carburetor, getting spark to plugs.
