Seriously, guys...go to ebay! Just got a pair of spare keys for my new '08 F250 for $15.00. Just have to go get 'em cut, program them and go!

And that will probably run you $75-$105, whatever they charge for an hour of labor, most places are one hour minimum.

Not on a Ford!

As is the case with every Ford I've owned, you can program the keys yourself. The only tough part can be the fact that you need two working keys to program a third. So if you only have the two that came with the truck and you lose one, you're screwed.

But if you think ahead and make a third, you will still have two remaining keys should you lose one, in order to program more.

I did that on the wife's Taurus back in 2001. I read the deal about needing two working keys so I bought two more on ebay. About $20 and 10 minutes of my time total.

Looks like the newer Ford keys (with built-in remote buttons) run about $30 on ebay.
