what's the best fuel system/injector cleaner--walmart has a $20.00 cleaning at their service center--will over the counter stuff do just as good a job?

I can't speak for which brand would be the best, but I can say with great certainty that you shouldn't let Wal-Mart anywhere near your vehicle.

I use 3M injector cleaner and I hold the pressure at about 38 PSI on the regulator with the fuel pumps and fuel pressure regulator disabled.
A can cost about $20.00 and will run the engine for about 15 minutes.
Most places will run a can through you system for about $100.00 if you do not have the regulator and hoses to do it your self.
I would not put anything in the fuel tanks as I think that does very little cleaning and may cause other problems.

I tried the Techron additive in the fuel tank and it did not help me so I when ahead and cleaned them with 3M and engine straiten right up and ran great.
Not sure where they sell Chevron with Techron but not around here.
I think Chevron may be in south California as I saw a Chevron station out there about 40 years ago when I was in the Navy.

sorry, meant the bottled stuff from Advanced Auto Parts (known by other names in different states). there are actually two "with Techron" additives by Chevron. I haven't been on the BITOG site in a while, so i can't provide further info...sorry to all.

Could you afford to put your truck down for a week my friend?
Cans will only get you so far, they might actually dislodge corrosion and such.
I highly recommend taking 15 minutes to pop out your injectors and sending them off to WitchHunter Performance.
They run them through a multi stage cleaning/pulsing system and flow them.
They even give you a before and after graph which let's you see just how bad they were!

I got mine done for $17/each plus $10 shipping for all 8.
Gordon did a great job!
They do amazing work for a VERY reasonable price!
