It wasn't a "simple" joke. Letterman joked that Palin's 14 year old daughter may get raped when they were in NYC.
I'd be upset if someone joked about one of my girls getting raped too.
I kept rewinding the jokes over and over and listened to them to be sure i heard them right.
He was not picking on her daughter, listen to them again, he was taking a few cheap shots at some guys, like A-rod and another guy that they should not be trusted around her daughter.

I'm with you on this one! Fire all Letterman's joke writers and hire ones that are funny. He knew better! I would like to know....where was the National Organization of Women on this issue? (sound of crickets) Just as I thought, they only show up when it is PC! The N.O.W. is worthless!

Trust me Duane, as the father of a 14 year old, i would be more than a little pissed if someone made jokes about my daughter being raped.
I just think Sarah Palin is a total loser if she could not grasp that the jokes were about some unsavory guys in NY, not about the kid.
