how abou that, as soon as i posted that it was raining the sun came out and i went and got the cab ready to pull off the truck so i can swap it..

and here you can see why it needed swapped, the whole roof is about rotted off the whole way around.

i got a few questions for you guys, does anyone know if the a/c cab harnesses and non a/c harnesses are the same?? also what about 4x4 and 2wd steering colums are they the same??

Man that cab is rotted. Whats the deal with the body mount. Did it rust through, break off or was it cut off?

for some reason that one cab mount rotted out.. the rest of the frame is super clean. i think this truck was built an a friday becouse it was just all messed up. a bunch of missed welds in the cab, a lot of weird body rust like the whole roof and bed floor but the cab floor and corners aswell as the bed sides realy didnt rust bad.. o well rite now i'm working on mounting the engine frame mounts finally. then i geuss i can finally bolt the engine in, put the new cab on and start wiring.. i only hope the wheather styays nice for a week that way i can get some work done on it...

My '74 highboy was like that. Rusted through above the windshield and door gutters, floor sock solid, cab mounts ROCK SOLID (usually the firewall ones rust and the cab and fenders sink), bed floor rotted through even though it was taken very good care-of by my brother since he bought it brand-new, etc. etc.

well at least i got a good cab now to put on it..
today i got the frame cleaned, wire brushed and painted aswell as got the frame engine mount holes drilled and bolted fast. so now as long as long as te wheather stays nice i can get the engine in for hopefully the last time.. then get my new cab on and play with the wiring, i think i got it all figured out as far as that goes, i kinda turned the family living room into a layout of every wire in the truck strung across the floor that way i could figure out how i was gonna get the dash and lights to all work, with the underhood wiring from the lincoln and maker it start with the 79 key.. it's a mess to figure out but i think i mite have it...

one thing that i am worried about is if i can find the frame cab mount, anyone got one???
