want me to get a picture??. they have a detachable bell, they bolt from the inside. i have takin a few apart, sooooooo i am 1000% sure on this. i thought that was common ford knowledge.
ok yesterday i pylled the engine back out and cleaned the frame up good..
and today, i got my mounts ups.. 4 days early?? but i was glad to get it back in and mounted.
to my suprise with mustang cobra mounts it sat rite on the facto 302 frame plates.. all i got to do is drill new holes to move them ahead a bit. so as soon as i figure out my tranny i can get it mounted for the last time.
it's out once more to clean, paint and add new gaskets and instale a good transmisson then i can get it mounted for good and instale the wiring, i dont want to get ahead of myself but maybe i will here it run by months end if i can get a good tranny soon... anyone got an auto shift from behind a 4.6/5.4 "anything will fit".
Kinda makes sense with the Mustang mounts. They did go from the 5.0L in 94-95 to the 4.6L in '96 without any major frame changes, didn't they?

well the stangs, use a completly diferant k-member.. but thats cause the mounts on a mod block are further ahead than on an sb. so yes it all works just gotta relocate the frame mounts forword.
cleaned it up a bit today, and checked header clearance again..
also searched the garage for some stuff i can use on this one, found a b&m ratchet shifter and a 100mph cluster i geuss i'll use on this. also got out my good c4 and ceaned it up, geuss i'll go that route and get the adapter bellhousing....
cleaning things up and gutting the cab rie now, as soon as i get this bellhousing i acn get my tranny in. trying to get one used rite now.. with that i can get it bolted in and start wiring it up..
also was thinking of maybe making it one solid color, i'm thinking a nice clean grey primer job, but black primer and red are also options.. what do you guys think, reed, black or gray??. thanks
I'm just subscribing to see how this project evolves. You just don't see to many of the newer motors in the older vehicles. I saw a mod motor in a 34 coupe so far at the Dream Cruise. One isn't a very big number considering the thousands of cars that attend.
well there arnt many old cars that a mod engine will fit in without major madifications so nobody seems to mess around with transplanting them into old stuff much..
however i got another one of these 4.6 dohc engines, i'm thinking about a 82ish reg cab 8 foot beder with that one in it with a charger and a 5 speed, but stock uglynes on the outside.. i know where trhere is one thats terrible fadded puke green.. and my buddy has a used vorteck charger for one of these engines, and i already got the 5 speeed stuff.. hmmm i geuss thats next years poject
