Subscribing

Just thought I would subscribe, I have a 1980, with a 300 in it that I would like to put a 5.4 (I think) into. Currently have a manual trans that isn't worth crap... so I was trying to think of what tranny I could put in it as I don't have the column shifter in my ride, oh well, I'll just watch this thread and see how it goes. Looks like your doing a lot of good work on it.

I cheaped out. I just went and got an efi 302. I do have another truck that might still get one of these beasts though, but it's gonna be sometime next year for all that.

it's not dead, i worked on it today.. finaly had time and money to back on it.. gonna just put the cab on without smoothing the fire wall.. kinda going in a new direction, gonna get it together and running, prove it will work. i got all the wiring sorted out and stuff, pretty simple once i layed it out.... but i still need to run new feul lines, buy a feul pump, intake still needs instaled, ned a new tb and mass air sencer plus more..

My problem is when I have no money I find other things I want. I wonder if I could get a part time job at Kinsler fuel injection?

well the cab went on today, as did the front clip.. i'll post up tomarrow fresh pics, got dark before i could snap them.

engine looks awsome under the hood and the clearance for everything is great.. plenty of room for all the odds and ends and the rad with an electric fan..

How far did you end up moving the frame mounts?

i forget the measurment.. but it was not much.. cause the mounts are located further forward on the 4.6 but i set the engine further back than factory to get the wheight closer to the center.. so it was mianly moving them out for the wider block..

well i am gonna put the doors on today, dash in and start running wires, i geuss i'll leave that hole for the heater box there for now.. i'll just cut a peice of sheet metal to fit and bolt that on..

however i have been thinking of maybe going with a carb swap.. i'll start wiring it and see how it goes, a carb swap will cost $1000.00 for all the stuff, but it mite be worth it...
