still have not got the cab on, my local county fair is goingon rite now so i've been spending all my time down there..
however all that rain we had let me master the wiring harness from the mark viii. i found there are 3 main power wires and 3 main grounds.. and if they are all hooked up she will run and the tranny will shift. thay are as follow from the ecu
i still aint sure how to make it start with the key but i'm sure i'll figure it out.
You may already know this, but Im gonna throw it out there jsut for the heck of it, maybe it will help. The last 4.6 swap I did, the key'd power circuits, make sure you tap into a circuit that stays live while cranking. Found this out the hard way, had it hooked up the ignition switch and that perticular circuit lost power while cranking. Took me awhile to figure out why it wouldnt start. Was because PCM was loosing voltage while cranking.

You've got me thinking about one of these swaps. It's the MPG that has sold me. 351w gets 16, triton gets (small v8) 20, 4.6 DOHC gets 24. The power is nice too, Where did you get your's, a Lincoln Mark VIII?
I'm finding the engines in lesser cars to be under-powered. In my search, I found this engine in: Grand Marquis, Crown Vics (police version too), T-birds, Lincolns, and Mustangs. The Granny-Mobile's are more abundant and more pampered (lower price, better part).
no those are lowsy single cam engines in all those.. this is a dual cam same as a cobra stang.. they were in lincoln mark viii's and a good running car with lower miles can be had for around 1000.00 if you can find one anymore... also i think i'll be lucky to see 15 mpg's outa this truck,no matter what your pushing a block thu the wind, plus once ya delete the emissions stuff and add some performace parts.. thanks
I was working on a '74 F100 long bed frame, now I've switched to a '78 F100 Trailer Special long bed. The Trailer Special has beefier brakes and suspension, and most of the paint is still on the frame. I'm still using the '74 grill and doors (the trailer mirrors tore up the '78 doors), with the '78 front bumper and bumper guards.
What do you need? A lot of stuff went on Ebay, but I still have a lot of stuff too. One interior was green. One interior was yellow. Just about anything on the dash is up for grabs, I'm using a '65 Olds dash. Both my dash pads are toast though.
Oh yeah, I'll tell you something funny. I called a few junk yards today. For a Mustang Cobra motor, they wanted $1800-$3000. For the Lincoln motor, $500-$1000. Morons.
I didn't tell them about the similarity, I'd like the price to stay the same.

Well, for starters, the Mustang Cobra motor is an aluminum block, the Lincoln is cast iron. Not that that matters a whole lot, but people looking to replace their Cobra motor (along with signed tag by the guy who built the motor) are going to pay the extra $'s which is probably what they are counting on.
As for the parts you guys are discussing, keep it to PMs or email. Thanks!

as i thought i just looked it up quick, the mark vii's are all aluminum just like mine. they are exactly the same engine as a cobra tang but have diferant intakes and diferant intake cams.. just so ya know!!
