Bump! Bump!

Come on someone must have had some problems with this programmer right? By they way, does this unit remove the delay from a stand still when you jump on the throttle?

From everything I've read, yes.

As I understand it, the lag is the result of the turbos having not spooled up yet. To compensate for this, the tuning dumps more fuel in to the engine to compensate for the lack of turbo availability right off idle.

Mick will correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I've gathered from the various posts I've read.

I've been running the 275 for over 25,000km now and not a single problem. I've been a satisfied customer since day 1 and highly recommend the product to anyone that asks. 90% of the lag is gone with the tune but there is still a small lag and from what I have read that has to do with the computer and the electronic throttle and not much a guy can do about that. I jumped in a buddies stock 6.4 about a month ago and I couldn't handle it. You will not beleive the difference in your truck once Spartan get's in there.

All you hear is crickets when you ask if anyone has had problems. You may find someone that had a customer service issue a long time ago, but they've worked really hard to clear that up. I must have called 5 or 6 times during setup with what must have seemed like idiotic questions and my call was ALWAYS returned and everyone was extremly polite, patient, and helpful. Brandon is right, you won't believe the difference in your truck. I tuned mine back to stock just to see what it was like and it was rather pathetic. Best money I've spent on a mod hands down.

My dashdaq crapped out about a month after I bought it. From what I've read it seems to be an isolated incident and as far as the support I've recieved from spartan over the issue I am definitly satisfied. It turnes out that my dashdaq has to be returned to drewtech for repair or replacement. Drewtech seems to be a little slow getting back to a person, but other than that I would say I am completely satisfied with the product.

Well i've got everything lined up now and will be Spartanized soon. What tunes should I get? i'm towing up to 13K or so through the mountains of WV. I need a weak tune so if my friend use my truck. Don't need it tore up and i want the 275 tune. So what is a good tow tune?

I am a big fan of the 210 tune. It makes towing with these trucks that much better

I've GOT to save up some $$ and get these mods.
Are ALL of you that are replying running the Spartan WITH a DPF Delete...or just the Spartan tuner only?

Also, if you leave the CAT in place does it cut down on hp drastically? I'm trying to keep her as quiet as possible and as legal as possible.

Ksims1868; I'm running the spartan with the dpf/cat delete, if you're spending the money there's no reason in my opinion to leave that crap on. No more regen. and better mpg to go along with the power. Sounds a million times better also.
Sawtooth; I'm not sure about the horsepower with leaving the cat on, but as for sound, mine is definetly louder. I just keep off the throttle when I'm going through town, I love the way it sounds but I suppose it could be annoying to some people. I had thought about putting a muffler on to tone it down a little, but decided not to, it sounds great as is. I'm sure mick would know about the horsepower thing and about putting a muffler on. The 150 tune works great for me for towing but I have no mountains around me.
