Thanks as usual, PSHD.

Very competitive pricing, wow, that's in line with the 09 F150 FX4s but with a lot more goodies and resale.

If the 6.2L was out already I'd be very tempted by one of these. Speaking of the 6.2L, the Ford site says it'll be 400hp/400tq- I'd have expected more like 400hp/430tq.

The 39k has has everything I would want, 1k for the decals-ridiculous.

Pricing is definately better then I expected. For me it is missing a couple of full sized doors, 1' of bed and the 6.2L or I would be tempted...

As for power ratings, I have seen nothing official as of yet. Although the most recent issue of myFord magazine stated the 5.4L would be 320 HP (on E85 fuel) and the upcoming 6.2L at 500 HP.

For practical purposes true, but that much longer wheelbase would greatly inhibit its off-road ability.

The 400/400 stat I read seems to have been removed. it was on the "build your Raptor" section earlier in the week.

The 6.2L is a 3k option- well worth the wait even if it is only 400bhp- 500bhp would be insane but I can't see it happening unless they go to forced induction like the prev. gen Lightning. Unlike the European competition, NA domestic engines and a high specific output are total strangers you see....

Found the 400/400 stat. Skip or wait for the intro on the link I posted to finish. Then click on the "+" symbol by the engine.

Full pricing is on this link too, and videos. Once the 3k 6.2L is slotted in there, that truck in black is an immense DD and would pair up just perfectly with an F350 workhorse.

Jalopnik - Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Pricing Starts At $38,995! - Ford F-150 Raptor

Definately impressive pricing.
I thought I remembered seeing something posted recently, but did not know if it was official pricing or not. BTW... Ford is calling this "introductory" pricing, so I expect to see some pricing increases in the not too distant future...

Hmm, that's interesting. Guess we'll just have to wait and see this summer.

I would not say that, The Chrysler 5.7 HEMI is making 390HP on 87 octane, while Toyota's 5.7 V8 makes 381. The upcoming 6.4 HEMI is expected to make around 450-500HP. Fords old DOHC 5.4 back in 2000 made some pretty insane power N/A as well.

If anything, I'd say they have the 6.2 detuned to preserve the transmission and the rest of hte drive train, or it is under rated.

GM's dohc 5.7 in 1993 made 405hp too... back when Europe was still rollin' Trabants

However, I think he's thinking more of the BMW/Audi 414-420hp v8s that rev to the moon and make no torque...

The pricing is better than I expected and I think the truck will sell better with a base under $40k.

Back in 03' I stopped in at a Ford dealer and was eyeing up the 5.4l SC Lightnings on the lot and most listed for under $35k but that was a 2wd. So I would say the pricing on the raptor is fair in todays market.
