Find out if they are running T444Es or DT466s. The T444E is our 7.3. It might even be a van turbo.

Get them, especially if they are throwing them in the trash. If they are t444e's they are 7.3's the Dt466 is a march different motor so I don't know if that one will work.

From what I just got through seeing in a quickie research effort, they are more than likely for the DT466 or DT466E engine. Still, if you can verify it, that would be good to know for sure.

Yes, somewhat. Easiest way is to look at the exhaust housing. The outlets are totally different because the vans have no wastegate like ours do. Have a look -- van outlet on the left, truck outlet on the right:

Or you can look at the housing where it connects to the collector. Van turbo says "1.15 A/R", truck says ".84 A/R".

Get them, if they are going in the trash you can turn them into almost any turbo shop for around $100 a piece for a core.

Clay... there is no simple answer to your question.

But.... do I need? no....

... do I want? yes....

... can afford a ready to install rebuilt unit? no...

... am I willing to make a long term investment into a unit needing rebuilding at a VERY low price? perhaps, but that depends on how low "VERY low" is.

Hell yes I'd take them! At the very least you could sell them cheap to a FTE brother in need
