55 DIR manual trans pix?

I have a 55 F-600 that has a direct in fifth 5spd. I don't know the brand. Is it a Clark? Does not appear to be the New Process or Warner that I see in 4spd pictures, yet looks like some of Clark ones I've seen, yet some differences. Is there a place on web or private that would have pictures and ID #'s that I could compare? And where do I clean off the trans to see #'s? The PTO take-off is on opposite sides of trans from most pictures I have seen. Did Ford always have to be different and want on right side, while others used on left side? :-X23
