Question Front brake job on 2002 E150

Hi all,

I am planning to replace the front rotors and pads on my 2002 E150 conversion van and have some questions.

1. The new drilled and slotted rotors came without the wheel studs installed, what is the best way to install them? (note to others, DO NOT buy from brakeplanet.com).

2. The rotors also did not come with inner and outer wheel bearings. Should I reuse the ones on the van or buy a new set?

Any tips or web site suggestions that might help me do this job would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank You, Phil

1. Push studs through rotor and stack some washers on it. Use an impact gun with an open acorn lugnut to seat it. Maybe not the right way, but I have never had a problem.

2. If your old bearings are in good shape you can reuse them. However they aren't much $$$ so it may be worth the peace of mind for new ones. Which ever you choose make sure you pack them with good high temp grease.
