Paint Job

Hey,
I am just starting to think about the possibility of having my Aero painted.
Mine is a 97 and I just had my engine rebuilt a few months ago. I am planning on driving this beauty for a long time and thinking about having it painted in the next year or 2.
My body is in great condition for a 12 year old car but especially the roof is starting to fade. I have zero rust.
Any ideas what it would cost to have a good paint job done?
Thanks

For a cheap paint job, check with some place like Maaco. I think they occasionally run these $200 deals. They're good for when you are about to sell the car.

Remember that 90% of a paint job is (should be) the preparation. This means cleaning the old surface of dead paint, dirt, was, and other things that prevent paint from adhering properly. Then there is the masking. A really good place will remove all the parts from the body as part of the preparation. A job like that will cost more than the market value of the van.

I just got a quote on my van to get it repainted. Not pretty. Mine does have some minor rust and a couple minor dings, but not to bad. Despite that, I will cost about $4000 to repaint, and the van would be down a month.

I found I can get my van redone in Reflex liner for $3400 and it will be done in three days. Much tougher than paint. They can color match my existing paint.

I plan to have Aero done in phases since it is blue over white over blue. The bottom blue section needs the most attention right now.
I'm getting my Escort wagon repainted, the rust cut out and repaired for $1500 by a guy with his own shop. The fun part is I'm changing the colors to the '09 Escape cinnamon metallic and pueblo gold.
