davidferguson is starting off with a positive reputation.
I need help trouble shooting a start problem

I just purchased a 97 F-350 4x4 one owner,75,000 miles gas truck.Clean and well taken care of but it has a problem once in a while.
Occaisonally when starting the truck does not turn crank over. When you turn the key to start nothing.I have played with the Gear lever and held it up into park the truck starts.Other times just waiting a min the truck will start.Battery is good as are the connections
Driving around town with 20 starts and stops the truck will do this maybe 3 times out of 20.Not sure if this is a known problem with these trucks?
Any ideas and where to start would be great.
Thanks
David Ferguson
