My first tow with the 6.4L

I couldn't wait any longer so today we hooked the 5er up and took a test tow. Drove about 80 miles or so, some interstate some rural and one Wendys parking lot for a coke break. The sign said RV parking, but it wasn't. The truck was everything you all said it would be. It was quite, towed with great stability and awesome power and the tow/haul option is very impressive. we really liked it. On the way back we went by the scales and weighed in at just under 25,000 lbs, sweet. Still have room to fill a couple of tanks. Fuel mileage is still an open question but it will be what it will be. I kept resetting to test it under different driving situations and it looks like I might get close to 10 at 60MPH on the interstate. I'll be happy if that's the case. Also had my first regen today, a non-event except the message center told me about it. here are a couple pics. I'm already thinkin about having the bottom of the truck painted to match the 5er, what do you guys think? More later. Stanley Z

Thats a really nice rig--the bottom accents look real close to the same color in the pics.
I get my 450 tomorrow, and will be hitching up to an '05 36TK3. Hope it looks as nice as yours.

Great looking rig. Is that a "We love you and we need you" tag on the front?

Yes, painting the bottom would be really cool. As sated already, it's pretty close now, but would look really sharp if it matched....nice rig!!

Painting the bottom of the truck would be cool if you have the cash.

How do you like the mirrors and the tow command system?

2008 f250

That's a nice rig you got there! I have 2008 F250 King Ranch 6.4L PS hauling a 2008 Keystone Laredo 5ther. The paint scheme almost matched perfectly. I'll get a picture up soon! The heaviest I've ever weighed in a shy over 20k. I got about 12 coming from Texas through the Arizona desert with a head wind.

Been towing the mobile suites for about 8 months with my 01 F250. I did everything I could to make it bigger, airbags, Rickson 19.5 inch wheels and tires and a whole bunch of other stuff but the weight was just a tad too much, we were at 24,000 and I just couldn't get comfortable with it. I think 22 or so would have been OK. I was just a hair over 20 with my cardinal and it towed great. Anyway, after fighting it for a while I ended up with the 08 DRW. Now, if we can just keep the fenders on.
