I would try to reverse-flush the fuel lines. Start at the fuel filter and see if the crud made it past the outlet of the filter. If not, just do what 96 said from there; it's pretty easy to pull the short line between the filter and tank and dump something like Berryman's B12 into it and blow it out. If the spooge has gotten past the filter, then yoou'll have to do this at the fuel rail, and there is a good chance the injectors are clogged up as well.
In fact, if you're going to replace the tank with one from the salvage yard, try to salvage as much of the fuel system as you can. The Aero uses a recirculating fuel system; the pump pushes fuel through the high pressure side line to the fuel rail, and excess pressure is bled off by the pressure regulator and returned to the tank through the low pressure return line. So you want to try to get both sets of lines.
